About R's Food for the Soul

It started back in July of 2011. I was at the Pacific Northwest raceway and there were food stands selling food and other items. A friend at that time suggested that we should sell food just to see if people would buy it, and we did. The raceway was only a few days and we made over 300.00 in two days. After that summer I spent the next few months learning how to start my own business. In April of 2012 I had my license and a commercial kitchen. I work a part time job during the day and sell BBQ plates at night. At that time I was a single parent raising two teenagers and one grandchild.

When my granddaughter came to me while I was preparing plates and asked, " Who are you making all that food for?" and I replied, " For the people who will buy it." She then asked " Who is the money for" I quickly said "Ours it's our money.and she stated our money and our food. Then at that moment that's how we got our name R's Food For The Soul. Every year I open from April to September. Starting out with a 5.00 special because that was how much I sold my first item for and that was about how old my grandaughter was when we came up with the name for the business.

My food is made from scratch, recipes passed down from great great grandmama dear with a healthier twist. My meats are smoked for 10-13 hours and then grilled to perfection. It's great with or without sauce. Believe me when I say you'll suck the bones. There is so much flavor. So good your mouth will savor, add a side or two From young to old this food you will always remember R's Food For The Soul.
